When young jingle-writer Johnny enters a classical composing contest, he gets a surprise visit from the ghost of Peter Tchaikovsky, who offers to trade places. Suddenly, Johnny's teaching the Russian legend how to write jingles, all the while falling in love with an aspiring concert violinist named Gina Caruso. A symphony of fun and friendship erupts, as Tchaikovsky and Gina struggle to make a great composer out of a mere jingle man.
